Coffee Concerts & Music Picture Day

Hello Parents!

You are cordially invited to Mesa Music’s first performance of the year, on Thursday October 27 for our 17th Annual Coffee Concerts!

Each class, or ensemble, will put on an “open house” style performance, where you get to see a little bit of what we do on a daily basis.  7th and 8th grade groups will conclude the performance time with one or two pieces we’ve worked up over the first weeks of school.  

Each performance will start roughly around the time their class meets, and last 30-40 minutes.  All groups will perform in the Music Room (F2).  The Mesa Verde Music Boosters will be providing coffee for its namesake event.

Here’s the schedule: 

• Chamber Strings/String Orchestra: 9:00a - 9:55a
• Wind Ensemble: 10:00a - 10:52a
• Wind Symphony: 10:57a - 11:49a
• Puma Band: 12:34p - 1:26p
• Puma Strings: 1:31p - 2:23p

 

If your son/daughter has their performance before their PE class, please send them to school dressed in concert attire, with a casual change of clothes for after PE.

If your son/daughter has their performance after their PE class, please send them to school dressed casually, and have them change into concert attire at the end of their PE class.

Proper concert attire is outlined in the Music Handbook, but is generally all black semi-formal wear from the waist down, with Mesa Music T-shirts for Puma Band/Strings, white button up oxford shirts and a tie of their choosing for Wind Symphony, and black button up oxford shirts and a tie of their choosing for Wind Ensemble/Chamber Strings/String Orchestra.  Mesa T-shirts and ties for the appropriate ensembles will be handed out the week of the Concerts.

Parents can park in the lower lot and enter through the front office.  We do hope to have a live stream link, as well did last year, though we encourage in-town family to attend in person. We hope to see you there!

 

The following day, October 28, all students will need to again bring their concert attire to school for Music Picture Day. They will be given time to change in and out of uniform during our class period. This will also take place period by period. Order information will be sent home Monday, October 24.
